The Software is provided under a Source-Available Non-Commercial License. Commercial use is strictly prohibited without prior written permission.

PERMITTED USE

You may use the hosted application for:

  • Personal use
  • Educational purposes
  • Research and evaluation
  • Testing transit data

PROHIBITED USE

You may not:

  • Use the Software for commercial purposes
  • Offer the Software as a paid or revenue-generating service
  • Embed the Software into a commercial product
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source logic from the hosted version
  • Circumvent technical protections
  • Remove attribution or branding
  • Use the Software in violation of applicable law

NO WARRANTY

The Software is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. The author makes no guarantee of data accuracy, reliability, availability, or fitness for any purpose.

Transit data may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.

TRANSIT DATA DISCLAIMER

TransitLens analyzes and visualizes GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification) datasets provided by third parties. TransitLens does not create, modify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any transit data displayed within the application. All transit data remains the responsibility of the original data providers.

TransitLens is provided for analytical and informational purposes only and should not be relied upon for operational or real-time transportation decisions.

SERVICE AVAILABILITY

TransitLens is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. Features may change, be modified, or be discontinued at any time without notice.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TransitLens and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of or inability to use the Software.

USER DATA RESPONSIBILITY

Users may upload or analyze GTFS datasets using TransitLens. By uploading or using any dataset within the application, users represent and warrant that they have the legal right to use, upload, and process that data.

TransitLens does not verify ownership, licensing, or authorization of any datasets provided by users. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their use of any GTFS dataset complies with the applicable data licenses, terms of use, or agreements established by the original data provider.

TransitLens and its operators shall not be responsible for any unauthorized use, distribution, or processing of third-party datasets uploaded by users.

LOCAL DATA PROCESSING

TransitLens processes GTFS datasets locally within the user's browser environment whenever possible. GTFS files are analyzed client-side and are not transmitted to or permanently stored by TransitLens servers unless explicitly stated by the application.

TransitLens functions as a data visualization and analytical interface rather than a dataset hosting platform.

DATASET OWNERSHIP

All GTFS datasets analyzed within TransitLens remain the property of their respective transit agencies or data providers. TransitLens does not claim ownership of any GTFS dataset and does not alter the licensing terms associated with those datasets.

Users remain responsible for complying with the licensing requirements established by the original data providers.

DATASET REDISTRIBUTION

TransitLens does not distribute, republish, or host GTFS datasets belonging to transit agencies. The application provides analytical tools that operate on datasets supplied directly by users or accessed from publicly available sources.

TransitLens acts solely as a visualization and analysis tool and does not function as a GTFS data distribution platform.

ANALYTICAL USE OF TRANSIT DATA

TransitLens provides analytical visualization tools for exploring transit data. The service displays insights derived from GTFS datasets but does not represent or replace official transit agency information systems.

Users should consult official transit agency sources for authoritative transit schedules and operational data.

TERMINATION

The author reserves the right to restrict or terminate access to the hosted application at any time without notice.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

All rights, title, and interest in the Software, including code, design, branding, and architecture, remain the exclusive property of the TransitLens project.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Israel.

DATA SOURCES

TransitLens provides example feed links that load publicly available GTFS datasets directly from transit agency servers. These datasets are not hosted, cached, or redistributed by TransitLens.

The following transit feeds are referenced as examples within the TransitLens landing page:

  • MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority) — GTFS data published by the MBTA under the MassDOT Developers License Agreement. Data is fetched directly from MBTA servers at the user's request.
  • TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) — GTFS data published by the City of Toronto through its Open Data Portal under the Open Government Licence — Toronto. Data is fetched directly from the City of Toronto servers at the user's request.

TransitLens does not modify, store, or redistribute these datasets. All data remains subject to the licensing terms established by the respective transit agencies. Users are responsible for reviewing and complying with those terms.

The inclusion of any transit agency's data as an example does not imply endorsement, partnership, or affiliation between TransitLens and that agency.
